We are grateful to be a part of the redevelopment of the old Dew Drop Inn, a hotel and nightclub on LaSalle Street, from the 1940s to 1970s. Some of the famous artists that performed at the venue included Little Richard, Ray Charles, James Brown, and Ike & Tina Turner.  Plans are for the Inn to be renovated as a boutique hotel and rock ‘n roll museum.

This project was completed as part of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program from the City of New Orleans to restore a historic hotel and music venue.  As part of the CDBG program application, Leaaf’s Environmental Site Assessment Team completed all necessary Housing of Urban Development (HUD) 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 58 Environmental Reports as part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process.  These Environmental Reports included a 24 CFR 58.6 Compliance Documentation Checklist, a 24 CFR 58.5 Statutory Checklist, an Environmental Assessment Checklist, Partner Laws and Authorities Worksheets, a Noise Survey, and an All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) / Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), and a 180-day Phase I Update.

In addition, Leaaf provided a wide range of various environmental inspections and assessments including indoor air quality monitoring and clearance, preparation of cleanup scopes of work for asbestos and lead, and asbestos and lead abatement oversight.
