Ms. Karen Irion P.E. with Leaaf Environmental will be conducting two free Louisiana Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) Workshops. These workshops aim to discuss permit changes and how they will impact your facility. The workshops will be held on December 10 and 14, 2021 from 11:30 to 1:00 at Leaaf’s main office located at 2301 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA 70056. Lunch will be provided on-site.
The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) finally promulgated the 2021 Multi-Sector General Permit for Storm Water Discharges Associated with Industrial Activities on October 27, 2021. The LDEQ was expected to release the new MSGP in May 2021 but delayed the release to respond to public comments and the federal changes. We have been closely following LDEQ’s progress and have prepared a line-by-line report of the changes. You should start receiving your renewal permits this month. The Louisiana MSGP is quite different than the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) version.
Because state regulations can vary considerably from the federal regulations, we wanted to offer our assistance to you in keeping you updated on the Louisiana MSGP. If you would like, we can discuss which changes will impact your Louisiana facilities.
