Here we grow again!

We are excited to announce that Steven Darby has joined us as a GIS/CAD Technician! Please help us welcome our newest Leaaf’er to the team!

Steven was born and raised in St. Bernard where he spent a lot of time hunting and fishing in Lake Borgne and the surrounding marshlands which cultivated his love for the outdoors.

After completing an associate degree at Nunez Community College, he spent the majority of his 20s playing music and cooking in New Orleans.

He eventually moved to Los Angeles for a few years where his culinary experience culminated in him becoming a Chef in West Hollywood. While hiking in the Sequoia National Forest, he became inspired to return to school after he saw someone sampling the waters of Pear Lake. He made his way back to Louisiana and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences from UNO and is currently pursuing a certification in GIS technology at Nunez.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing live music and supporting local bands, as well as furthering his cooking knowledge in his kitchen, hiking/traveling, and tending to his plants and cats. Steven vows to be a constant student of life, continuing to learn in every aspect.
