Indoor Air Quality

Leaaf Environmental, LLC (Leaaf)'s Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Division services included rapid response to deal with water damage and suspect mold growth as a result of the destruction caused by Hurricane Ida (2021).

The historic four-story Lincoln Hotel was opened in 1955.  It was initially created as a place for African Americans to stay when they were almost always turned away from white-owned establishments. Legendary musicians from all across the world have stayed and performed, including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, BB King, Duke Ellington and more!  The property has been vacant since the 1980s and will finally be restored.

The New Life Center site is part of the downtown Revitalization Plan being developed with the City of Opelousas, the Acadiana Planning Commission (APC), and the Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) and a target property fro a Local Foods, Local Places grant. 

Leaaf Environmental, LLC (Leaaf)'s Indoor Air Quality Team provided environmental consulting services for multiple buildings on this school campus in response to damage caused by Hurricane Ida.

Leaaf Environmental, LLC (Leaaf) provided asbestos and lead remediation services as part of the historic rehabilitation and renovation of the of the United Fruit Company Building and four neighboring properties for adaptive reuse into a single hospitality redevelopment.

The site served as a rural community hospital from the 1960s-2000s that was part of the Hill Burton federal grant program and the First Hospital District of St. Martin and St. Landry Parishes.
