Leaaf Environmental, LLC’s (Leaaf’s) Indoor Air Quality Division conducted a limited asbestos survey at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas property located in New Orleans, LA.   The survey was limited to the south side of the building to help facilitate minor renovations.  The survey was conducted by a Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) Certified Asbestos Inspector and four bulk samples were collected.  The analysis of the samples, which was performed by an LDEQ Certified Louisiana Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (LELAP) laboratory, did not detect asbestos above the regulatory limit in the building materials sampled, which included weather barrier non-fibrous paper and black mastic adhered to the paper.  Additional sampling may be required if other areas on the property are disturbed.
