From 2015 to 2021, Leaaf Environmental, LLC (Leaaf) provided the professional personnel, equipment, and transportation needed to remove and dispose the accumulated chemicals, non-useable paint, and hydrocarbon liquids collected during the City of New Orleans Household Hazardous Waste Day. Household Hazardous Waste Day is an annual event held by the City of New Orleans to help residents dispose of chemicals, paints, and hydrocarbon liquids that cannot be disposed of in weekly trash pickups.

Prior to Household Hazardous Waste Day, two Leaaf Professionals walked the site with the Department of Sanitation to discuss layout, traffic flow, and placement of equipment. This meeting also served as a chance to communicate lessons learned from previous years and make necessary adjustments. On collection day, Leaaf provided six professionals to support activities including supporting and profiling the chemicals and waste.

Following the sorting and collection activities, Leaaf coordinated with disposal facilities as needed for the transportation of waste and signs manifests on-site allowing for the transportation of the waste to disposal facilities. Leaaf also rectified invoices on behalf of the City of New Orleans to ensure accurate billing from the disposal facilities.
